At work, I don't have a computer at my carving desk, so I wanted to use my portable dvd player.

There is software out there (even some free stuff) that will convert files to DVD (.vob) files. I can't recommend anything off hand. None of them to my knowledge will convert the .FLV files. I think they will have to be converted to an intermediate format, i.e. WMV, AVI, etc. For that I can recommend a most excellent program that is about $30, Applian Technologies Replay Converter. If you have Nero, I understand it has the capability, just haven't used it. I either carve at my computer desk, or use a laptop at my carving bench.
Wish I could be more help. This is something I have had request for, and is on my list of things to do but is in the future for me.

Always check Komando.com, Website for The Kim Komando Radio Show® for any free software that does what you want to do. Do a search and see what comes up.

If you have had any problems with the VLC Player, or find it too big to download, I just put a new player on the FTP. It only plays FLV files and is aptly named FLVPlayerSetup.exe
It only plays FLV files as it is named. It is from Applian Technologies and is totally free. these people put out some nice products if you are in the need for video software.

You might try DVD Flick. It will create DVD's using .flv files no problem. Doing it now as I read the posts. Works fine - just follow the Guide button. I am not a video/DVD person but it works pretty good for me. Oh yeah, its all freeware.
