Default Fishing Scene

This is my first attempt at carving a scene. My dad loves fishing, so I'm going to give it to him for Christmas. I call it "Bad Day Fishing". It's hard to see in the pictures, but he has a bottle caught in the net, along with the previously caught shoe and tire.
The net is made from coat hanger and netting from infant sock packaging, the rest is carved from basswood. The little fella is 3 inches tall. I'm pretty pleased with it, but there are always things I see after that I would have changed. Maybe next time...
Thanks for looking and ant comments/critiques are welcome

Eric

Your Dad will love it. I have had many days like that on the water. Great carving, love the expression and the dock.

Eric,
I think it's a good carving and it depicts what often happens when I've gone fishing--everything on the line except a keeper fish! Cute idea and well executed. Your dad should be well-pleased with his Christmas present and it's a good example of flat plane carving.

Your dad will definitely love that. Some nice flat plane work on that figure.
