Hi Charles, You have a unique style of your own, as you continue carving try to be careful and maintain it. Carve on as you find the time.

Hi Charles,

I'm just now catching up with this thread. Great carvings - they show you really know how to keep a fine edge on that blade!

Welcome home, with much thanks and appreciation for your having served. I hope you and your family have a great Christmas!

Mark

Great work. I really like the SNCO with the mug and mean look on his face!

Welcome back bro. I know the feeling, I came back 44 years ago. Couldn't carve a lick. I could, however, crush a beer can!!! lol.

Sorry I missed this thread initially. I love your carvings and I love how you painted them. Very unique style and cleanly carved. Like others, I'll be studying them as well. And thanks so much for your service.

Thanks for waking this thread back up guys! I've been home enjoying new Daddy life. My in-laws came down here to visit and help me prep for my wife's return from Baghdad. I took advantage of some of the down time and carved a few more figures, I'll post them here in the next few days.
--Nomad-- It's funny that said you'll be studying my carving style. I got my carving style from studying everyone else on this forum. Carver's helping carver's, good stuff.

Nicely done. Bet you're lucky also. My nephew did some chip carvings with wood I sent to him in Iraq. They would not let him bring the wood home.
