These two pair of fellas are represetations of me before and after surgery, as you see one guy is all crippled up with a cane and in pain while the other is happily stiding along. I gave one pair to the surgeon who did the deed and the other to the therapy group who got me back to striding along. Both parties appeared to be tickled pink to recieve them

Neat! Super gifts! One of the great perks of being a carver is being able to give unique gifts like these. Hope your hip is doing well. Today I need a lower back replacement. Mine decided to get hinky on me today and I kinda resemble one of your carvings, running around here with cane in hand. One of those "once in a great while" recurring problems. I think a little Buffalo Trace tonight might help it along.

So true! I have had both hips replaced. I look just like your carvings, before and after.

Hey Herb! What great gifts! I'm sure they were really appreciated! Glad your up to your old self once again. Nomad...I feel your pain. My back does the same thing. I'm crippled for about 3 or 4 days and then I'm fine!
