Default Antiquing

I figured out how to mix my antiquing solution. I used One quart of Boiled Linseed Oil and about 3/4 qt of Mineral spirits, half tube of burnt umber oil paint.

I ended up buying a $5 mixer at Walmart. Mixed the paint with the Mineral Spirits FIRST, that worked great. Then I mixed the mineral Spirits with the Linseed Oil.

I only tried the solution on one carving, pics below.

The before pics are located here.... Here is the latest creation!

have a great day!

Nice work! I have only used BLO and burnt umber. And then only a small ribbon of burnt umber so my antiquing solution is not as dark. Also, I've been wanting to try out the addition of mineral spirits because I was told it will help with dissolving the oil-based burnt umber. Making new antiquing solution is on my to-do list. Glad to see yours worked out so well.
