Default Re: Another practice flat plane - Gerry

Well, as I said, it is a practice carving.

So even if I liked it with only the Minwax, I decided to do a bit more. So I added color but kept the face natural. I then re-dipped it in Minwax for the final look. I wanted to experiment on the finish.

I also used the carving knife a bit more on ther face. I am not completely satisfied, but it will now stay like that. A problem I have is trying to havie sharp cuts instead of fuzzy cuts. I am working on that but it is still a problem for me.

So now "Gerry la fouine" ("Gerry the snoopy neighbor" in english) is now finished. But I think I will carve another version of him and will keep the carving with the Minwax finish as another practice.

Thanks for the comments,

Gilles
