Nice carving Gene...

The wood could be Jelutong, It is just a bit darker than basswood. I remember carving with Dave Rushlo one summer in Michigan and he prefers to carve jelutong sez he can finish a carving quite a bit faster compared to basswood..

Gene, it doesn't seem to matter what kind of wood you use, it always turns out to be a winner and this one is no exception. Nect time I'm in Africa (not) I'm gonna bring you back some elephant dung, I'm sure you'll think of something. (smile)

BTW .. I think your right Corey .. I think it is Jelutong .. oh well .. it makes no difference ,, it carves great ..
