Default "Wind" stick

"Wind" face carved on the end of a Sycamore stick. 3/4" wide x 7/8" high.

Had a lot of trouble sanding end grain on stick. I'll use Watco Danish oil to finish.

Here's the picture.

I had trouble sanding the end grain so the face is rough.

It looks great Ron, I'll keep tabs on this so I can see the finished carving. I'm also doing a walking stick where I'm carving on the end grain. If it comes out good I'll post it.

RON, was looking at your cane again in the gallery. It reminds me of an old hood ornament off of a car, Mercury? Very cool!

shouldn't have trouble keeping the stick on the ground, looks like a mighty blow,
end grain, are trying to punish your self, nice and neat,
