Default Wildlife/willow stick

This stick started one way and ended up quite another. I wanted to make an eagle design and inserted a relief carved eagle...no problem. Then I carved the feather, pretty simple but, was tearing the willow more than cutting into the grain...lastly, I wanted to put a new carving on the top but, my eagle head is not finished and the bear seemed to fit the best.....so, here goes!

Hey Norm,

Most of my carvings started as wood. Through the years I have added sculpting clays and Corion for relief carvings.....then I cast the prototype with a resin composite that I created about 12 yrs ago. This material has the color of both ivory and as it turns out....diamond willow....thanks for your interest.

As I can see that you are using Willow to make your sticks and do beautiful work in carving them how do you manage the fuzzies in the willow wood? ?

This is why i love doing art sometimes... Its planned, then its deviated... Your result is a happy little accident! Kinda like Bob Ross used to say..."We don't make mistakes, but have happy little accidents" Those are always the best kind! Awesome piece! Hope your not snowed in too bad up there...
