Question Walking Stick and Cane Supply

Hi all,

I am nearing completion of my shepherds crook staff and was shopping around for a ferrule for the tip. After much looking, I was able to find "The Stick Man" at Keith Pickering maker of hand carved walking sticks in wood

Does anyone here know of this site/company? The gentleman who owns it, Keith, seems to be rather knowledgeable and he had the sizes of ferrules I was looking for (I had some wood left over, so I'm going to start on another tall walking stick when I'm done with the current one).

Anyway, his prices seemed very fair, even though he's in the UK and the dollar doesn't go very far there anymore...

Just thought I'd leave this post and find out if anyone here did business with the company and knew how good/trustworthy the fellow was.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Keith is still connected with the Stickmakers World Wide, I think it is a Yahoo group. He used to be the moderator/owner but quit for some reason. But, he is still active and you will not have any problem with Keith. I have not ordered from him, but he has been on that list for a long time.

As Gene pointed out, Keith is an active member and used to be a moderator on SCWW. He is highly recommended by those members of that group who have bought from him. Kevin Rosecrans, also a SCWW member, also has stick parts for sale on his site.

Yep - I would also recommend Keith though I've not ordered anything from him. He has always been very generous with his time and knowledge on the SCWW list over in the Yahoo Groups. I recommend that group as one of the better online forums for those interested in stick & cane making. Great bunch of folks.

Hey there Hi Ho - I just looked at your Join Date and your posts count for the first time ever I think. How on earth did you join this forum in 1969 - Al Gore hadn't even "invented the internet" at that point? ;-) When did this forum actually begin? You MUST have been one of the founders no? What with 8k + posts. WOW!!!

Hi and thanks all!

I really appreciate the response - it makes me truly happy that I found this place!

After so many positive responses, I've already placed my order with him for one ferrule for my current project and one for my next, along with an engraved polished brass collar. Even in our current economy, I was still able to keep the parts and shipping from the UK under $40 - I feel good!!

Thanks again!!!
