Looking for someone who can make a cane or walking stick base to fit an existing handle I recently bought - the handle is not set up to accept a threaded screw fixed in cane/stick base, as so many are. This one is made of some type of resin, in the form of a attractive big cat, but the resin itself looks carved/threaded to fit down into the cane/stick base. I finally bought just the handle for my daughter, as I had been looking for a very long time for a cane/stick with a tiger handle that didn't look too primitive or rustic. She was born in the Year of the Tiger and, since I'd found one with a dragon head for her brother, I need to be sure she has one, too. When it arrived, I realized that I will likely have to find someone to put together a cane/stick base and this handle. Are any of you able to handle and interested in a project like this? If so, please get back to me with details including a ballpark price - if this is too expensive, then I'll have to rethink the project, I guess! I am located in Tyler, TX. Thank you very much for a prompt response. |

Sounds facinating Judith, but I reckon I'm a bit too far away to make it practical for me to be involved. Might I suggest a photo or two of the handle posted here? It would give some of the very talented people on this site a bit more of an idea of what needs to be done and therefore a greater liklihood of you getting an answer.

Hi Judith, I work with the resin composites. But, I am in Alaska....could you post those pictures? Both Veritas...Lee Valley and Treeline have the couplers. I could make a base that you could carve but, would need some more info on size/shape. |

Hi Judith, I am interested and could probably handle your project. I would need pictures and dimensions of your handle and I would need to know the length of the shaft. You could contact me through my website at www.oldcrowwoodcrafts.webs.com Don R |
