Default walking Cane

Trying again sorry about the problem last time. I have dial up a it only works about half the time and very low!!!

That's a very nice looking cane. I really like the way the spirit looks with the dark bark. It really makes it stand out. What type of wood did you use?

Thanks you all.I for got to tell you it is Black birch my favorite wood to cave.I did not photo the total cane the bark below the woodspirit is removed down to the end of the cane i did this so i could taper it a bit and drop the weight.

Before I scrolled down I guessed that it was either cherry or birch. Nice work and I really like the T-grip. Thanks for sharing it!

You know it there is not a better wood in ky than Black birch for walking sticks i just love the pattern on the bark.The only problem i've found with it.It gets hard when it drys out.But that makes it even better for canes. You just have to carve it a little green.

Very nice piece Vic. I'm a great proponent of using bark in the design to set off a carving. You have done it beautifully.
