Default Walkin' with an EAGLE . . . . . . .

Hello to all. During the last Salmon-Run this past October, Taking a break from fishing, I took a walk along a river bank trail with one of my Eagle sticks. Everyone I'd met stopped me to admire the stick. In one of these incounters a couple of fishermen stopped me, inquired about purchace, then bidded against each other. One of them bought it right out of my hand. The other gentleman ordered his own Eagle stick. This one is his.

This happens often on park trails and whenever I'm out walking. Anyway, I'm off to deliver this one along with a few Santas', a Fairy-Door and a few other Christmas orders. Got my Christmas list done early this year (a first).

So the moral of the story is;
Walk your sticks and cary a lot of cards. Sold over 20 this year out walking.

Way to go Dennis, I suggest you make more sticks and take more walks. Sounds like a great business. Very good carving.

A very richly carved stick for sure. The whole thing looks very well balanced both artisticly and physically. No wonder you had a 'bidding war' over it. I hope you got what it was worth.

Hard to say for sure... depends on where you are, what the stick is made of etc . Here in South Australia, I get around $95 Aussie for an eagle head stick with a Jarrah shaft and contrasting wood spacers. I have it on good authority, that I could likely get between 30 and 50 percent more in Melborne or Sydney for the same thing. But getting it there and paying commission for someone else to sell it for me would eat up that increase and I'd net about the same...so why bother, especially as I'm having trouble keeping up with orders as it is.
