Default Stick supplier?

Somebody has asked me to carve a walking cane. He doesn't really care what kind of wood as long as it is of course strong enough to be used as a support cane. He wants it to be carved so some of the bark is left on part of it. My problem now is I don't have any sticks that have been drying and ready to carver, especially any with bark.
Any advise on where I can find some and what wood is best for a cane to be used for support for a large man?

Thanks
Steve

Both sites below have a variety of sticks with bark.

Come up to my place, end of April (if this friggin' winter ever ends). We can go up some avalanche chutes for diamond willow. Hope that the last of the snow is down. Optimum habitat for mature/dominant boar grizzly bears.
No, we don't go unarmed. Five yrs drying time. . . . you'd be far better off to find a more benign site.
