Rod, this is brilliant! Obviously your client is in earth-moving in some way. I have to say this is one great design. He should be over the moon with it. Couple of questions: Is the handle all one piece or did you assemble carved components? I noticed that the shaft of the handle itself is rather long with the grain running across it. Is this why you put in the metal 'strut'.. to help reinforce that section? The only thing I think I might have done differently, would have been to place a spacer or two between the shaft and the handle, but then it might have detracted from the carving.. not sure. Anyway, fantastic job. Hope your client paid you what its worth |

Very nice looking stick, guessing the reciever is/was a backhoe operator. Very nice addition to the design. Does the bucket move? Bill in Omaha |

Thanks everyone, To Bill in Omaha, no the bucket does not move, and in answer to Waitpinga Whittler, its all carved from one piece, and the strut is representing the hydraulic ram that moves the digger arm, its not there for added strength. It is a present for a backhoe driver, who will be giving up work shortly due to MS. Rod |

That is one of the most original canes I've seen so far, I would have never come up with that. :O Great job.
