In some Pacific Northwest Native Cultures, they have a very elaborately carved "Speaker's Stick." If you are not holding the stick, keep your mouth shut and listen. Should be used here in my village for the open session parts of Village Council Meetings, especially when financial issues come up. |

A friend gave me an oversized "stick blank". It is about 2-3 inches in diamiter and maybe 4 ft taqll. I am thinking about making a cane out of it to stand in front of my booth at craft shows. Should be a good conversation piece Marvin. |
