Default Oversize DW Hiking Staff

I thought some of you stick makers might be interested in seeing a very large Hiking Staff that I recently completed for a customer. His criteria for the staff was that it should be a minimum of 7 feet long, 4 inches in diameter at the top tapering to 2 to 2 1/2 inches at the bottom. This particular stick is 7 foot 3 inches long and 4 inches in diameter at the top and weighs 14 lbs.
The first pics show it with most of the bark removed and the remainder are pics of the finished product.
It was delivered to the customer last week and he loves it!

Man, that is a lot of lumber to carry around. Would make a hike only last a short time before looking for a wheelbarrow.
Glad your hiker friend like i t.

A mate of mine once fulfilled a commission for a 12 foot baseball bat, perhaps it was the same guy as your customer!

Don, Nice work...Looks like a quarterstaff. Great for dogs, bears or the random forest bandit.
