Hi Ted,

Blades for hardwood is mainly a matter of blade shape and bevel angle. I find a warncliff blade with a slightly greater bevel angle works best for me. You can easily modify the gelding blade of a good 'stockman' style pocket knife for this while leaving the other blades more steeply beveled for softer woods. This gives you more choice in your hand at once.

I can do this for you if you want but I'm in Australia. I reckon a guy in Canada called Rick Wiebe at rick@woodcarvingbiz.com can do the same thing for you a bit easier because of the distance.

I have the blue...it's nice.You may want to get Orange and Yellow, or red or something in case you need to mix, or just get orange and hope its dark enough.
