Default Netsuke anyone?

Hi everybody I found these websites that I thought were pretty neat. One has a free pdf book on it to download. Pretty neat stuff.....

I tried the process a couple of times. To be successful, you need to use a species of wood that is harder than Basswood. The imprints into bass tend to cut the wood fiber while it compresses the fiber in harder wood.
