That shows excellent design and excellent workmanship. Being a retired chemist, I am interested in your use of aqua regia as a darkening agent. Where did you learn of this technique and how do you apply it?

I agree with what Mpounders said, the cane is almost like a piece of armor, or some kind of futuristic weapon. The sharp edges and dark color make it look menacing.

I 'secretly' do that as well.. I make another grip midways, or sometimes even at the tip so you have several options. And my canes/staffs need to have a ball or thicker part at the top for extra mass.

Uh huh, it does have that aspect...
A fellow, the other day, told me that it looks just like me, in an 'abstract' sort of way! I've heard it said that all art is a self-portrait.

I guess that you noticed the 'swelling' toward the bottom (hand stop) and the 'flange' on the bottom (same purpose and also a 'bumper'!), and the oval cross-section (for finger orientation).
You know what gives a bit of necessary weight (and the ability to 'micro-manage' the weight distribution) are some black 'hex head flange bolts' studding the surface in auspicious and artistic (and verrry functional) arrangement. I guess that they don't have to be 'flange', but the black flange bolts (are what i had) are both hardened and... black (goes with anything)! *__- (I'll put up some pix when I can)
