Default Mountain MAN Stick

This is from a limb from a White Pine Tree in my back yard. It had broke off at the top, which was about 90 ft. tall. It stuck their for about 3 years and finally came down. It was the size of a Fence and full of Ants and very dry which made it light. Sanded it and liked the colors and put a coat of Schellac on it. That was about 2 years ago. The Dia. was 3.50" and to big for my hand, so after looking at it all these yrs. I decided to make it usable. This is the biggest top I have put on a stick but it looks well balanced and a lot better than a Fence .The Finished size 2.50"x 7.00". Finished with BLO and Schellac, and of course Watco Dark Wax, a little different than my usual way of finish. Merle

Really nice piece Merle. Love the face and the finish is very nice. Do you use the wax before the shellac or after?

Hi Mark, That Old piece of White Pine needed to be saved with all the Colors, cracks and Ant Holes. It took me a while to decide what to do with it but finally got it done. Thanks for your encouraging words. Merle
