Strength in the wings could pose a problem, but perhaps they could be carved in a more "wrapped around" style to reduce weak spots?.....Please let us see if you decide to try the idea.

Thank you for the reply. When I first began carving, I wanted to do an angel cane but had the same problems with what to do with the wings.
