Default Green girl cane

I'm still practicing on female faces and I think this one is a little better than my last. It's a female wood spirit/elf/pixie with an oak leaf hat. This is from a piece of Bradford pear tree that had some storm damage. Comments and advice welcomed!

Fantastic design. Well executed. I especially like the way you have used the natural shape of the stick to give you material for the face and the leaf stem. I think its a remarkable carving into end grain like that. I have tried several times to get the female face down, but I've never managed one I was satified with. My best efforts don't touch what you've achieved here. Well done.

Was this a commission or just something for yourself?

Mike I think you nailed it. The face is beautiful, I don't see how you could do a female face much better.

Mike, being that I look at my face at least every morning, I think I might be a good judge of the female face.

And I say, nice job. She is beautiful.

Look good and very feminine. That's an area that I'd like to improve upon too. Thanks for posting!
