Default Granddaughters first walking stick

My oldest granddaughter loves Grampy's carvings and she has begun the process of learning to carve in soap herself. As Grampy has to walk with a cane now, and carves his own canes, she (and her friends in school, grade 2) are always excited to see what new canes he has carved and is using when I go pick her up after school. Each time I'm there, they are all asking which cane I have today: the bear, the dragon, lion, tiger, hawk, eagle or something new.

The other day, Octavia asked if she could have her own walking stick/cane, as she tells me her feet get tired walking the halls in the school! Perhaps a bunny grampy!?

Well, this morning, we have one happy little girl. She and her mom stopped in for breakfast before going to school and I had a surprise waiting for her!

Enough said, a picture can tell how she feels better than I can. The head is Butternut, the spacer Ebony and the shaft a birch dowel.

Grampy ........er .........Bob

That's great Bob, I bet she is thrilled. I think it is cool that such a young person has taken an interest in what you do like that. I think she's proud of Grampy!
