| | Facial reconstruction on and Indian This is a redo of my second cane. I dropped it and crushed the nose, plus the face was not very good. I fixed the nose and touched up the whole face.
Handle is boxwood, spacer/collar purple heart and shaft is oak.
Finished w/ Watco Danish oil. |

| | Re: Facial reconstruction on and Indian Thanks Sam. He's okay now. You should have seen him before. I was going to give him to a friend but when I took it out and looked at it, I couldn't believe how misshapen the face was. Out of balance, distorted, not to mention the smashed nose.
My friend has since passed on but I wish I could have given it to him while he was still here. I guess the lesson is not to put things off. |

| | Re: Facial reconstruction on and Indian Nice Repair Job Ron. It probably looks better now than before. The Santa that I was working on chipped out on the eye. I had quite a bit of work into it and decided to go deeper and try to save it. Well I did and I think it turned out for the better. So the Moral of the story is,( If you want your carving to come out good, Make Mistake.) Merle |

| | Re: Facial reconstruction on and Indian Ron, it's a really nice redo.Mistakes usually lead to something better,at least that's what I try to believe. Most of my stuff that turns out pretty good, usually comes from messing up.You can only come up from down, so what the heck, may as well give it a shot....sharon |

| | Re: Facial reconstruction on and Indian Great Recovery Ron! The instant I saw it I thought of the 40's & 50 Pontiac Hood ornements I saw as a kid growing up. Neat application for a cane handle. |

| | Re: Facial reconstruction on and Indian Ron, you done good buddy. Thank God you wrecked him first time around because he sure looks fantastic now. If you really wanna give him a good home to a good old boy, ship him up to Canada, I'll treat him really well, I need a new stick but just can't seem to get going on it.
