Hey guys, First time on the cane/walking stick forum I carve mostly cottonwood bark houses, but I came across a long thick piece of bark with a nice curve at one end just begging to become a walking stick. I'ts more of a decorative piece since bark is not real strong. I thought you guys might appreciate this. Thanks for looking Jay 19 |

That's a neat idea. Like you say, it's not practical as a real cane, but it makes for a great conversation piece. I'm sure it was as fun to carve as it is to look at. Thanks for sharing.

I like that! It really sparks the imagination. Pity it isn't a practical stick. I'm wondering if something could be carved in a stronger, yet light weight wood that would stand real use... say something like poplar. Any chance of having a go? |

A very original and creative design. I have made quite a few "display sticks" so nothing wrong with that either. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Wonderful wood colors! Indeed not that practical, but who cares, it's the effort put into it that make it valuable.
