Talking Carving Faces and Woodspirits 2 books.

I just ordered these books online what do you all think about them for stick carving and just carving faces in general?

Carving the Human Face: Capturing ... - Google Books

and then this one that someone on here recommended to me http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA240_.jpg

So did I get the right books?

You did good! Espically with the Phares book. You might want to chewck out my videos on Youtube. I have a series of them about face carving, using a Santa ornament. Here is the link, there are 18 videos in all. they give you a good place to start when carving faces.

YouTube - Santa Tutorial part1 (Start of Santa Tutorial)

Enjoy!

Hey I will do just that. Thanks for the feedback! I heard those books were both good. I guess it's just nice having a reassurance. And plus, I got ants in my pants waiting for these dang things.haha. Thanks for the link, I don't have a youtube account but I might make one and subscribe.

I personally like Tom Wolf's books on Wood Spirits and walking canes. Have used a number of his books and find them great.

Both are very good books... nice choices and great references you will continue to go back to again and again.
