Default "BIG BUCK" stick is finished . . . . . . .

I've finally finished the Big Buck stick after many long hours of toil. It was great fun to do. Carved entirely of basswood, wood burnt and stained, Finished in Tongue oil. (many coats)

This piece fearures a bust, that can be removed for storage and transport (in its own case). It was a commission that was ordered for a well established deer camp. To be used as a traveling trophy yearly, to the owner of the Big Buck.

Was a lot of fun to do. May have to do a few more as interest dictates.

Awesome work! I really like the added hook and the strap. I will have to remember that if I ever get a stick done. Thanks for sharing.

Dennis, That's a lovely piece of work. The lines are clean and clear and the proportions are correct in every detail. I particularly like the relief of the doe walking away you've done on the shaft. That takes some talent to make that work on such a small surface. (The other photo's a bit blurry so I can't tell what it is but I'm sure its every bit as well executed as the rest of the staff.)

Congrats!
