Hello: I've heard of people that bends small trees over that is out in the woods then tieing them over for walking sticks.My question is how long do you leave them like that before they take shape.Weeks-Years? Thanks.

Probably years; you find a young sappling that is the wood of choice, bend it, tie it and let several growing seasons go by before harvesting it. Done that several times.
