Default Tractor Project

I have started a new project for a customer. I am chainsaw carving a Farmall 200 tractor.

I have carved the wheels out of pine, and the body out of pecan. I decided to attach the wheels to an axil for strength. I will cut a groove in the body and glue it in with gorilla glue, secured with a bolt or two.

I will do the steering wheel the same way, an axile with the wheel. The seat will be out of pine and will be bolted and glued into place. I plan on carving the details for the engine etc into the body. When done I will paint red for the tractor body and appropriate black for tires.

I will post pictures as I progress.

This is my first tractor so be kind :>)

Hi Greg, sounds like you have it all figured out and will look forward to the updates. What size is the tractor going to be?

Hi Greg,
Look forward to seeing progress pictures, thanks for sharing! Sounds like that tractor might be just the right size for a little kid to set on?

The Farmall was a classic. Love it!

Well here is another update. Nearly roughed out. Still need to sand and paint. I am mostly happy with the carving.
