| | Something a little different for me Hi Gang,
Just got back from finishing up a commission. This one is for a firefighter with the Toronto Fire Department. The carving was pretty well all chainsaw except for the lettering and numbering. It is in a live Hemlock tree. The tree is really big probably about 15 to 18 inches across and fourty feet high.

| | Re: Something a little different for me We have so few trees....I always cringe when you carve a live tree. I know that if you don't remove the bark all the way around the tree will live. But I can't help feeling sorry for the tree....
But the work is beautiful as always. |

If you don't mind me asking - how did you do the black lettering? I'm assuming you burned the wood after chiseling it out. It really stands out. Nice carving by the way.
