| | Neighbour down the street wanted a woodspirit in a pine stump, so yesterday was his day.
The tree had been down since the spring, so it wasn't to "sappy".
I had to undercut the edges to get a good sized face and now that it has it's first coat of sikens on it , I think I will take a black spray can down and outline the edges of the face and mustache to make them stand out from the rest of the sculptors a bit more.

| | Re: Neighbour down the street Super job there Bob. I envy you carvers who live in rural areas as I can't practice with a chainsaw where I live...so I use large gouges and big mallets which takes longer.

| | Re: Neighbour down the street Way to go Bob, that's a fine lookin spirit in what looks to be a beautiful garden, I'll just bet the little Mrs is in love with that piece. If yer ever in Dunnville, bring yer saw and you can have a ball chompin up a tree by the river while we fish a little.
