Great idea and yes way better than a plain old 4X4. I cant allow my wife to see that bear of yours she will have to have one.

come on don carve one out for the wife, like you said beats the standard 4 by 4 post we use.. too bad my road does not see any traffic the only person that will see it is the post lady or the ants in the mailbox today, that sucked by the way (wifes magazines sit them in the truck and the seat is covered with small ants)... i combined the 2 logs with standard 1/2 inch emt.. didnt have any wooden dowels laying around.. just drilled and inserted the emt... seems like sealing and putting finish on the 2 logs took the most amount of time... wanted to be safe after the mold problem ... i've learned its better to put something on the wood even if you are not finished carving.. mold sucks.. off topic watched a red tail hawk attack 2 small groundhogs by my garden today.. that was way cool to see.... i think the ground hogs got away but hopefully scared enough not to return and eat my plants... |

Bostonwhaler: do you have any idea what a fuss you made? Every honey/partner believes, yes, believes, that we are all totally equipped to whip that up in 20 minutes. "If he can, then you can. . . ". Sad thing is that I have a 3" x 12" x 72" bit of western red cedar< "just standing around". But, says I, what else do I use for Vic & Tracey's wedding presents.? |

thanks for all the positive comments and sorry if anyone has to make one for their significant other, lol.. another idea is to tell your wifes, if you dont glue it and make it one piece you have the ability to change it for each holiday santa bear, st. pattys day, july 4th, halloween etc.... lol |
