Heres a simple ladybug for a childs play area, carved from cedar. And some memorial posts for a green burial ground, fancy tree stakes. I have carved 9 since christmas, its good to use m'chisels now and again to finish off. The first post is a piece of sand blasted acacia, theres a small owl and a mouse on the front and a combination of chisel and wood burning iron. I started of with chainsaw and finished the detailing with chisels. dick |

I always like seeing what you're up to Dick. I've just recently learned about green burial grounds. How appropriate to have woodcarvings as memorials there. Thanks for showing us your pics. Christina |

An English nature totum.....carved from thuja, western red cedar, bark falling off, quite dry seasoned with a few rot spots and included bark, perfect fluted shape. Just chainsaw, burner and a wire brush. Colin, september is looking good, a good time of year over here! Note the oak leaves on the back, look especially good adorning a Jack o' Green, Itchy Shirt' XXXL???? for a tight fit????? dick Last edited by dicktilley20; 04-06-2009 at 04:02 PM. |
