Just wanted to say this website has been very helpful, along with everyone using the forums.
I did my very first carving in december 07.
I am having fun doing it.Carving a hour or two a few nights a week. I got my first carving bar like 3 weeks ago it sure helps. Anyway just wanted to show a couple pics of my latest carvings.

First a carving bar then another saw and another ........

Have fun, looking good, if you havent already try canola oil for your bar lube I have found the bar barely gets hot using it.

Dicktilley20 how did you know i am a vw nut?
We have a 56bug, 66dunebuggy,64bus,and a98jetta. Plus a couple american cars. It took me so long becouse the first few carving i gave away, and the more i did the more fun i was having. I bought a grinder, and a industrial type rotory tool first, Everytime i sell one of my carvings now i have been buying a new tool,or accesorie.

Brian At the begining of december i didnt own a chainsaw. Now i have 3 gas and 2 electric. 3 of them were givin to me. I still want to buy something that is lighter than the one i am using now for carving. I have an old mini mac that is real light but if i use it for more than a half hour my hands start to go numb from the vibration. I still look on craigslist for chainsaw almost everyday though. hope to find something small and modern with a antivibration handle, that i can afford. I am having fun with it. Dont really know what to charge people for my carvings. Do you guys just go off of how long it takes to carve?

Bug Jam

I took a look at your profile Rob and saw you liked the 'Dub'

Here in UK theres a 'Bugjam' meet Bug Jam - VW Festival - 16 Photos

A VW with a rocket doing the 1/4 mile!!!???

Vibration can cause White Finger Rob, change the AV rubbers (Anti-Vibration) or get some gel gloves, a smooth running saw will carve some smooth carvin's.

Take care and wear leggings, steel toe cap boots, eye and ear protection, chainsaws take no prisoners!

Carve safe and keep having fun!
