I really like those Bears, but a question, if I may? One thing I have found in my limited carving experience is if I get the eyes right it seems to lift my carvings.

So, because of that, I try to take the easy way at the moment and use glass eyes or something similar that suits what I am attempting to do. Their are some exceptions but generally that is the first question I ask my self when I am about to work around that area.

Did you carve the eyes or did you add eyes to them? To me, the eyes have also given your Bears a more life like appearance. Also, the mouth area. Did you do that with a chainsaw or did you use some power carving or other technique?

Thanks for sharing.

Pete

That's a moment in time in a bear's life. Exactly the style that appeals to me.

The eyes of each of my bears were burnished in using a homemade eye-tool and die grinder. The occular recess and eye-lid were carved with the saw.
