Default First chainsaw carving-Native American

I thought I'd post my husband's Native American in progress. The upper half is done except for tweaking. The lower half will be buckskin pants and moccassins and standing on a bit of stump.
It's his first try at a chainsaw carving. We don't have the proper equipment but he's using an electric chainsaw, a grinder and a dremel.
He started with a six and a half chunk of red oak, which was an adventure in itself to get it out of the woods and into our shop.
He's a carpenter by trade, but things have been slow this winter and we both took up carving to preserve our sanity.
He's anxious to visit the Rendevous and maybe pick up some pointers.

Looks like he is well on his way, nice detail,Ridgway will give a lot of ideas.

Are you kidding me his first chainsaw carving. That is great I am not sure I could do that now and I have been chainsaw carving for years. Make sure you look me up when you get to Ridgway maybe you could give me some ideas. Just look for the guy with the Canada jacket and Hat or ask someone they all know me.

Thanks so much for your kind words. I'm sure that will inspire him. He's working on the pants and moccasins now. I'll post another picture when the carving is finished. We'll be sure to look you up Colin.

Man oh man. I don't know didly about chainsaw carvin, but I know a great piece of work when I see it, and that my friend is a beauty. I think you better give up carpentry and go carvin steady.
