HI Elwood, Thanks for the compliment. I like the difference with paint too. I always intended on painting my large carvings, because of the ones I've admired on the internet. I'm not going to worry about the cracks either. She was cracking while I was carving her. I've carved a lot of "in the round" pieces before, but nothing this size. They were very tiny compared to her. I have sold her already, and want to carve more, but my doctor said I have to wait until the pain in my arms goes away first. He thinks I have some nerve damage in both arms. I thing it was a combination of the swing blade that I cleared the field with, and the lopers I cut hundreds of weeds down with the same week I used the chainsaw more than I had. Meanwhile I don't have much of a grip. Weird huh? I wish I had taken up chainsaw carving 30 years ago. It is hard on an old woman, but I love the results. It's so fast! Thor |
