She is carved from a block of white oak and is 26 -1/2 inches tall. I need practice on the female face. I put her here in the Chainsaw section because she was carved mostly with a chainsaw. I left her hair rough and finished her with chisels, rotary, and sander. Thanks Lundy

Lundy, She is definitely a keeper. Really like the smoothness of her features. Beautiful piece. Safe Carving and God Bless, Mark |

Top job Lundy, it dont have to be 100% c/saw. I like to get a chisel out now and again, they are a lot quieter! dick |

Hi Lundy, Hey we don't want any of them damn chisel & power carved things here, just kidding! A great job & I got one coming up in a silber birch tree also so I'll see what I can do & hopefully it turns out half a s good as yours. One habit I got into was taking pics once I reach the point I wont hazard the saw any more & move to power carving the details. Shows, not only others, but good to look back on yourself & your progression with the saw & ability with it also?? Thanks, Robbin |

Thanks everybody. That's a good idea Robbin. I may start taking pics in stages... if I can remember to. Thanks again. Lundy

Hi Lundy, Yes I agree, sometimes it is hard to remember to take pics at various stages but it is worth the effort to be able to look back at your own progression or else it seems to just slip into the past & we forget & is a good reminder of the path we have followed along this adventure! Thanks, Robbin |
