Not to outdone by all the fairs and shows going on around the country, the old guys got together at my cottage on the Bruce and had our own "Chipfest".
We started out slowly on Friday night with Myself, ST, and Al, when Jim showed up and started the action that lasted well into the late evening.
Jim headed to his camp early the next morning and we started to carve. Near the end of the day Colin showed up and Jim came back for a while. A lot more coffee drinking and talking took place and some of us got a bit of smoke in our eyes as well.
The auction on Sunday didn't go well because of the lack of a completed piece of sculpture, but we had a bit of fun and may do it again next year without the rain.

Must have been your far well lunch from work today, you were alright when you left yesterday.
I was going to start a Heron today but it was sunny , I painted the front and one side of the garage. I didn't get the same colour so I know what I'll will be doing up here during thanksgiving weekend.

Just have to say that it was a lot of fun being there with my OLD friends , had a great time even though I got suckered in by S.T. so many times .but he did make up for it at breakfast time.Awesome meals good friends and a little carving makes for a perfect weekend. Thanks again Bob for the invite

Well next year it would be cool if you made it an international event. I know an Old fella that makes chips and speaks Canagian and Amereecan who will brave long distances and cross wide rivers to be laught at.

Sorry about that Bob, but I bet you could see our campfire all the way across Lake Huron. They made me go out in the rain and sat in the Wine Bar end of my boat house looking out the picture window at the fire.

Yup, the firelight kept me up all night.
Checkin my schedule for next year, let's see...Robbin's...Chazfest... seems the rest of the year is open! Barring a Royal or presidential command, I could make it!

Would love to carve with you guys anytime.

Hey Old Guys, Wish I could have been there & would have kept Jim a little more in line I thinks! I would love to make it next year but just got a call from the Thorndale Fair people that they are booking me for next year already so if you could shift it a weekend before or after I would love it!
