Default Carving in Germany

...in the Black Forest, Wolfach, south Germany.

This is the owl I carved for this event, 2 days work.

White pine, a nice fat one!

......und viel Biertrinken!!!!!

Carving with the German guys was magic!

Hand carved into the back is,

'Here rest your wings when they are weary'

What a welcome saying for a nice looking bench. I don't think I could resist sitting there for awhile.
It might make me smarter?

Dick,
It looks like a great place to rest and have your cuppa.
That was a good sized log to begin with I suppose. What kind of wood was it????

Thanks Bob and Colin

Its an idea I have had for a while, I thought it would be perfect in the Black Forest, to discover as you walk through the dark woods....

White Pine Bob, I counted about 160 rings on the end.
