Default Carving Canadian Style

Well you remember I was doing that tree carving in the old maple. Well when you live where we live it can be a bit of a challenge. Last Thursday I started Friday it snowed so I was down for the day. Saturday rained non stop all day and the area around the carving was a lake. Sunday beautiful day back at it again. Was going to stain today guess what major snow storm woke up to it and a foot later it is still snowing go figure. Well I did get most of it done on Sunday so here are some more pictures I will post one more batch probably in July when the snow goes LOL. The customer is really excited as the tree carving was in memory of her mother who used to sit under the tree. I have attatched some pictures one with the tree before it was cut down the pictures are included in the next two threads.
Hope you like them I am off as soon as this snow quits to do a double carving two tree's in on yard.
Colin

always a pleasure to see your work Colin, what a shame that magnificent tree had to be cut down, but thats what we do, re-cycle the bi-products!

Heres one of an old oak post and sand blasted, an UKK style spirit....

Nice "Canadian" carvings there Colin. Always like to hear the story behind the carving. I see the weather is as unpredictable as on the east coast.

Well still cant stain the carving yet. Believe it or not another dumping of snow and to think that when I started this carving I was in shorts. Here is the carving not believing it either hope to get a coat of stain on it next weekk maybe just thought I would let you see our diverse winter conditions we can get up here. I am also told that beware you poor folks in Kansas that the Tornado forcast because of this weather will be horrific this year as most of Tornado's are spawned here in Canada.
Here are a few more pictures
