Just received a third new 3200EZ because I love my other two and I'm told they might not be available much longer. Wow, this one is buzzy! Vibes through both handles are much worse than any other small saw I own (2 other 3200s, 3800, 4000, 339 etc). Last edited by VesselMaker; 09-02-2009 at 02:37 PM. |

Spent more time with the new 3200, trying new plug and checking to see if changing any carb adjustments made it better. It tachs very close to specs, and I don't think the problem is a carb adjustment. Motor seems to have a hammering like maybe a miss, and I don't know if that is why the vibes are so bad. Bad coil maybe? Any know electrical issues with the 3200? Saw has some sort of problem that renders it unusable in it's current condition. I suppose I could start swapping parts between it and another one, but I don't feel like spending too much effort tearing apart a new saw. Edit: I am going to see if I can send it back to Jamie. Vesselmaker,I'm quite sure that if you send the saw back to Jamie Dorean he will make it right with you.I am pretty sure he has been running and fixing Redmax saws for the better part of twenty years. Right now, with fairs and comps at full swing, it might be easiest to email him and have him walk you through some diagnostics, and if that doesn't work, drain the fuel and oil and send it to him. He is a stand up guy and will work it out with you.I will assume that the reason he didn't test it before shipping was the residual fuel issue with shipping. Is there any chance your altitude would affect the carburation?-ken trapp |

Hi Bill, Hey this is a first that I have ever heard of having this problem & I have gone through quite a few & never had this. A question? if you rotate the chain on the bar does it remain close to the same tension at all point through one revolution? If t does appear to tighten & loosen, take the side cover off & using washers put the hold down bolt or EZ adjuster assembly back on without the side cover & then mark the clutch hub with a magic marker when the chain is in it's tightest position. Rotate the hub 180 degrees & see if the chain loosens up on the bar noticeably & if it does which may be a clutch hub/sprocket manufacturing problem with it running eccentric which will cause vibration at all RPM's but noticeably worse at certain RPM's? Please keep us posted as this is a new one? Thanks, Robbin |

I have one saw that viberates a little more than my others. I sure hope Makita don't stop making the 5012B. I think if I do buy any more saws I will go with Echo.

Thanks for the replies. Robbin, this new saw has the issue even without the bar on it at all, as that was part of my testing. I might do the test you describe in the event the clutch/drum assembly is not running true. That would fit the sympton. Runs strong enough, just has a hammering/vibration. Don, I know there are always variations between saws but this saw has some issue. Maybe simply a coil cutting out. Ken, elevation not an issue, my other 17 saws run well. I emailed Jamie, and he is going to exchange it for a new one. Can't ask for anything better than that. I sure love my other two 3200s, and it will be kind of sad when they are not available at all any more. They are a joy to run. Anyone that has not run one IMO should, to see if they should be adding one to their quiver before gone. Last edited by VesselMaker; 09-03-2009 at 02:15 PM. |

I need to clarify that I live about two hours from Jamies shop, and that whenever I have dealt with him it has been in person, never through emails or had orders shipped to me. I am very appreciative that after being taught to chainsaw carve by Bob Younger, Jamie also took the time to give me quite a few tips on carving when I went to his shop,so I guess any comments are biased or slanted in Jamies favor. Buzzsaw, I see that you also frequent this forum.Did you ever get the eyetools that were a part of your order from Jamie Dorean or has that issue been straightened out?-ken |

Well, that there is one HUGE difference. You are the only, and the very first person that I have talked to, or ever seen mention that your dealings with Jamie Doeren have gone well. Every other person that I have talked to that deals with Jamie, has gone through endless cat/mouse chases on their orders, as well as multiple phone calls to find out what is wrong with the order, or multiple back and forth calls to fix what was shipped wrong to begin with. I'm trying to source RedMax product myself, rather than going through him as I believe it will be like pulling teeth. The one difference in you and all the other people that get jacked around to no end, is that you live 2 hours away from him. What should the rest of us do that don't live 2 hours away? How can we get reliable service that is expected from a distributer/dealer of products? Would it be too much for a person to just tell you the truth and ship the product when they tell you? Or do you think the best way is to just continue to let Jamie Doeren jack us all off to no end and pray that we can get our product from him after we pay with credit cards? I can't be quiet about this any longer, Jamie has been one of the worst people to deal with, and I'm have not ordered a RedMax G3200 from him on purpose as I can't know that I would get it in a reliable amount of time. That goes for chain and bars also, not just RedMax. So what gives Ken, do the rest of us need to move within 2 hours drive of him so we can go pick-up our product also?
