Talking Birch Dolphin

After much procrastination, I finally carved the dolphin my daughter has been asking about for 2 years. My first sea mammal, this stands 2' tall and was fashioned after the power carving in the latest Wood Carving Illustrated mag.

That dolphin's posture is quite original, you often only see them standing upright on there flippers. Nice smooth finish to!

Hi Butch, You did a nice job on the Dolphin & I can tell a little elbow grease went into the finishing but a nice grain piece of wood also!
Thanks, Robbin

Default Next Dolphin

Dolphins are like potato chips. You can't carve just one. Finished this Sycamore cow and calf today @ 43 inches tall and coated with linseed oil.
