Default Bench and Dolphin

Just made this bench last week, sold it at the fair this weekend. The seat board is Catalpa the owls are white pine.

The stylized dolphin is catalpa I saw the the design in a book of stylized carvings.

beautiful work, maybe after i carve 10,000 logs mine will look like that... dolphin is sweet great design...... what type of paint or finish is on the owls

Great owls on the bench. Their feet are incredibly detailed.

Kudos on the dolphin as well. I agree that the grain is tremendously complimentary for the carving. Well done!

Thanks for the comments,

bostonwhaler1969, The owls were finished in a several step process that I do with most of my carvings.

First I apply a base stain made from concrete pigments mixed with clear acrylic and water.
when that drys I use a combination of dry brushin and spray painting sometimes rattle can or my auto detail gun.

Then I put on flood brand CWF deck and siding preservative.

Lighter colors will be applied after the cwf
