I use a mask very similar to the one Eddy uses with the exception of a single filter vs his duel filters.

I have to disagree on the Dust-bee-gone mask. It does allow the fine particles through, and those are the ones you have to worry about. It isn't NIOSH approved, so it isn't applicable in the workplace, another cause for concern. I have one, and used it for awhile, but noticed a build up of fine dust on my face under it, and headaches after sanding mahogany, so I switched to a real respirator with particulate filters. I also have the problem of fogging my glasses, which doesn't happen with the Dust-bee-gone mask, but you can get the same benefit with a half or full face mask respirator which is NIOSH approved for fine particulates. I use a 3M half-face mask model 7500 with 2091-P100 particulate filters. The filters are suggested to be used for particulates such as those from processing minerals, coal, iron ore, cotton, flour, and certain other substances, passing NIOSH’s P-series test criteria, the 2091 P100 filter provides a minimum 99.97% filter efficiency. All of that advertising aside, I like this mask very much. It is very comfortable to wear, even for hours without fogging up my eyeglasses. I also wear a magnifier with it. It also works under a a full face shield for when I work with my other power tools. You can get different filter cartridges for other uses as well. Jane

Thanks TreeWizard, mdallensr, and MTnative for the responses. I went with the 3M 7700 1/2 mask with particulate filters, vey similar to the 7500. Seems this will give me all the benefits and because I wear glasses will not cause a fogging problem, Thanks to all that gave the good advice and guidance. Larry

I use the Trend Airshield Pro. It's expensive but I've used all sorts of masks over the years and this is by far the most comfortable.

Telecarver, Do you wear anything else under the sheild, ie: eyeglasses, etc? Also, I wonder, do you find that carrying that pack is a hinderance or distraction? It looks like a really good system but cumbersome. Jane

| I wear glasses under the mask. There is plenty of room. There is no pack with the Airshield Pro. The whole thing sits on top of you head like a hard hat. I found the discomfort of wearing a mask and safety glasses more distracting. I also like the cool air blowing over my face. It's one of the few masks that work well with a beard so I also feel safer.
