Default Well, duhhhhhh.....

I had an 'AHA!' moment today and I can't believe how dumb I've been! I do a lot of reciprocating carving to rough out. I carve until the handpiece gets hot then I take a break. Not that I want to, just that I'm afraid of burning up the handpiece.

Anyhow, since I have to order everything in, I have a spare reciprocating handpiece, so I don't have any 'down time' waiting for a replacement to be delivered.

Due to an unscheduled vacation (hubby called home from work two weeks ago and said 'lets go to Florida' and less than twenty-four hours later we were 'out of here'! But that's another whole story! ), I got a bit behind on orders and have been trying to catch up. Today I was on a roll, really moving some wood, the handpiece was hot so I stopped. That's when I remembered my 'spare', I can't believe it took me years to think.....Duhhhhh, snap off the hot one, put on the spare and keep on carving! I got a lot done today, by the time the second handpiece heated up the other one was cool.

Like I said.....duhhhhhh!!!!!!! Oh well, better late than never, right?!!! Deborah

Either you're approaching 60 or you're over it. Welcome to Senority Realm. You have more company here than thrown away chips.
If you're not 60 or over....I'm so sorry. On the other hand though you're ahead of your time.....finally.

Deborah,
Where the heck have you been hiding nice to see you on the message board again. We all have those duhhhhh moments and they are perfectly acceptable. You may be an old gal but you certainly dont look it. I have missed you and Ben for the last two years getting to old to go to Ridgway and I dont like the cold anymore. I will never forget our visits though and the smell of that pot roast when I drove in the driveway. Hope all is well girlfriend nice to see you posting you must share with us some of your latest stuff.
Colin

Deborah,
I thought the same thing as Colin. DEBORAH'S BACK!!! Us oldies miss you. We need to see what you've been working on lately. We love to hear of your trials and tribulations and senior moments; don't we all have those more often than we used to??? Senior moments still beat no moments. Laughing at ourselves is sometimes the only exercise we get.

Missed you. Even though I've not smelled your potroast.

Wow, you guys know how to make an old broad feel better!! Bob, Ha! Ha! you certainly called it, I turned sixty last month!!!

Colin, I wondered if you'd be making it down this year. I totally understand about the cold! Ben said you should have been down here, we would have taken you to Florida with us!! In fact, I put a couple pictures on the Latest News and Updates page on my website, the second one was taken at Siesta Beach, the first, the reason when he called home and said 'Let's go to Florida' I never hesitated for a second! And we have both decided, in two years, when he retires, we are going to become 'snowbirds'! It's hard to believe the same sun shining here in Pennsylvania (it was 2 degrees yesterday morning!) is the same sun that shined on us in Florida!!!!!

Thanks Donna, nice to know I've been missed! I've missed you all too! If laughing at myself is exercise, I can skip the 'official' exercises, I'm definitely getting all the exercise I need! Ha! Ha!

Nancy, hope all is going well with you. Have you gotten all settled in and back to carving??

Curtscarving.....I understand perfectly! Deborah

P.S. Oh.....forgot......what am I working on, three Santa orders and an eagle for my brother and a couple boys fishing, that's for my youngest son, on the side. No pictures on my website yet, but if anyone wants to see what I have done lately, just click on the link below and go to the Newest Carving page. I'm a bit behind, but playing in the Florida sunshine was SO WORTH IT!!!!
