I guess I'd look at catalog discriptions and deciede what you are looking for. If your left handed, you're going to want a reverse on it. I have bought quite a few things off e-bay and haven't gotten burnt yet, knock on wood. Some let you return the item.

I picked up a gently used Foredom SR bench style with the carousel more than 2/3s filled with burs (including 7 typhoon style) and a variety of 9 sanding drums for $90 at an estate sale. Also another CC series for $65 at another sale, got it mainly for the metal foot pedal and 28 handpiece plus a back up shaft and sheath. Also may use the hanger attachment and turn the bench style into a hanging one. (i already have the hanger for a table) Now all I have to do is learn how to use it all.
