I am talking about their combo unit which is a micro carver, not the flexshaft. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

When it comes to micro motors, one handpiece (or in my case, two, just so I don't have to change collets to accomodate the dental bits) should be plenty. Most micro motor handpieces are pretty standard as to shape and size.

I bought a Master Carver micro motor last year when my old Foredom went down for repairs and I needed something quick to keep working while I waited for the Foredom to come back. At that time, the Master Carver unit advertised 50,000 rpms and I bought it. It was a VERY nice unit for the $300. price tag. I would go so far as to say that it compared very nicely to my old Foredom unit which had cost me $600. over ten years ago.....so I bought a second Master Carver handpiece.

I found that the MC handpiece and cord plugged right into my old Foredom power source. After I got the old Foredom back, I switch back and forth with the two handpieces (Master Carver and Foredom) on the Foredom power source and keep the other Master Carver handpiece hooked into the power source it came with.

The low end micro motors have come a long way in the last ten years. I don't like anything that runs slower than 45,000 rpms though. This is a delicate piece of machinery so you can't bear down with it to try and remove more wood quickly.... higher rpms make up a little for the fact that you can't bear down. I let the rpms do the work. I have tried a handpiece that only did 38,000 rpms. There is a world of difference and I didn't care for it.

But as for multiple handpieces for a micro motor.....for the most part they are all the same size and shape.
