Default is there something sketchy about Mastercarver?

This product line is very much an enigma. It is difficult to find anything on the manufacturer, let alone who the main distributor. WCS is the closest I could find to a main distributor, but they don't even carry the combo unit (at least that I could find) I bought one on ebay from goingbunkers, then after no response I posted I was considering stopping payment. Within 20 minutes I received a response from Gtowntrading saying that it was shipped I should have it by the end of the week. Does anyone know anything concrete about this product. Do they sell others hand pieces? Where? Are other handpieces compatible? Who. Whoever is in charge of this company really needs to make themselves or this product more transparent and known. Otherwise, it creates great suspicion. There are some people who state this is a good product and works like a dream, but not very many. What's up MC?

Just my experience so far!

Call these people.

Wood Carvers Supply, Inc.

They are responsible for creating the MasterCarver line. Very nice people and will tell you everything. Knowledgable and honest.

I talked to them prior to buying the detail carver. They had just redesigned it. They have them built offshore but have very good quality control measures in place. And they do stand by their products.

I don't know who manufactures the Mastercarver products but I purchased a Mastercarver Micro-Pro several weeks ago from Wood Carvers Supply and I have been very satisfied with the product and the service from WCS. They shipped promptly as they always have and they provided the info needed to answer the questions I had regarding the product.
Due to a mistake on my part I had an issue with the Micro-Pro. I called WCS and they had a tech person call me back promptly. He told me how to resolve the issue over the phone.
I can't speak for all the Mastercarver products but I have been satisfied with the products I have purchased from WCS.

You would think that they would have all of "their" products on their website along with a little history and or bio about the unit. Not very good business in my eyes, which makes me question their reputableness. Apparently, I am not the only one who has asked such questions or have had such caution about them. I did buy one nonetheless, I just wish they would read these inquiries and do something about it.

I did find the combo unit on their website. Their website has a lot to be desired. It is difficult to puruse through it. I still can't figure out if their are other hand pieces for the machine. My apologies for the word sketchy, disorganized would be a more accurate description or "not user friendly"

I have the Burn Master and a detail carver from Master Carve. The detail carver I purchased for Woodcarvers Supply. I have been very satisfied with both the burner and the carver. I also get very good service frin Woodcarvers Supply.

I have two Mastercarver Rotary systems, one with foot control, the other the dial type control. I also have the Micro Combo Unit. All were bought through Wood Carvers Supply and all three are fantastic working machines!

I've used mine, almost daily for eight years!! I've had very little problems, only at the beginning and admittedly, they were my fault!! I was a little too rough on the reciprocating handpieces!!!!! I burnt a couple up....seems you don't need to lube the shaft much on a Mastercarver!!!!!

Their website might not be what you consider 'user friendly', but in my experience, their staff certainly is! I think you'll be please both with your Mastercarver and with the staff and service from Wood Carvers Supply! Deborah

nothing 'sketchy' as far as I'm concerned, as I've had their hanging unit for 10 years with NO PROBLEMS. As far as hand pieces go, they have a right angle and the 'Stealth' hand piece that has a 0-1/4" chuck. I have the stealth hand piece and use it most of the time.
The standard hand piece that came with my unit requires a wrench to change the bits.

Their catalog (WCS) is very nice and shows the Mastercarver with 3 handpieces, foot control and a number of burrs. The Recipro-carver has five blades. If the website is not what you need, I suggest you call them and ask for their catalog.
